What We Believe

Statement of Faith

Scripture: We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God, completed by human authors, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit, revealing the love of God to the world. (2 Timothy 3:15-17; John 3:16)

The Trinity: We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, creator and ruler of the universe. (Matthew 28:19; John 10:30; Ephesians 4:4-6)

Jesus Christ: We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is God the Son, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His death and shed blood on the cross, His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory. (Matthew 1:23; John 1:1-4 and 1:29; Acts 1:11)

The Holy Spirit: We believe that the Holy Spirit is in our world today, to convict men of their sinfulness and then lead them to the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Savior, then to give all believers the power to live a godly life. (John 3:5-8; Acts 1:8; Romans 8:9; 1 Corinthians 2:14)

Humanity: We believe that all men are sinners and face the judgment of God. Jesus Christ is the only way of salvation. (John 14:6; Acts 4:12; Romans 3:23; 2 Corinthians 5:10-11)

Salvation: We believe that salvation is Gods free gift to mankind. However, each person must accept this gift individually by faith to enjoy eternal life. (John 3:16; Ephesians 1:7)

The Resurrection: We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; the saved to eternal life with Jesus and the lost to eternal punishment. (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; Revelation 20:11-15)

The Church: We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in the Lord Jesus Christ and that all true believers are members of His body, the church. (1 Corinthians 12:12, 27; Ephesians 1:22-23)

Ordinances: We believe in being obedient to the Lord Jesus Christ:

In remembering Him in Communion service, taking the bread as a remembrance of His body given, and the cup to remember His shed blood for our salvation (Luke 22:17-22; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26)

In Baptism by immersion, identifying with His death and rising to new life in Him (Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 2:38-41; Romans 6:3-4)

Evangelism: We believe in the ministry of evangelism (sharing and proclaiming the message of salvation only possible by grace through faith in Jesus Christ). (Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 1:8)
