We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to ask the big questions of life. Is there meaning to life? What happens when I die? Why is there suffering?
Alpha is a series of group conversations that explore life, spirituality, and faith through the lens of Christianity. It’s a non-judgemental and open environment for asking and exploring questions of life with new friends. Alpha is meant to be a space for people who wouldn’t typically go to church, so whether you are from another faith or have no faith at all, curious or skeptical it is easy to join and explore.

Who is Alpha for?
It’s a course designed primarily for people who aren’t churchgoers. It attracts a diverse range of guests, including people of different ages and backgrounds, all with differing viewpoints. Churchgoers are welcome to attend with any guests they invite.
What can I expect if I attend Alpha?
Connection: We spend time getting to know each other through some fun and light-hearted ice-breakers. Questions can range from best restaurant in Vancouver and why? to whether you roll your toothpaste or squeeze it and why?
Video: We watch an engaging 25-30 minute video that explores one of the big issues surrounding faith. These topics address questions like, Is there more to life than this? Who is Jesus? How and why should we pray?
Conversation: Next share our thoughts on the video topic in our small groups. There’s no obligation to say anything and there’s also nothing you cannot say (seriously). This is an opportunity to hear from others and contribute your own perspective in an honest, friendly and open environment.
What if I try it and don’t want to come back?
The Alpha course aims to be a low-pressure and non-threatening experience. If you don’t feel that the course is for you, you are under no obligation to return and we will not contact you unless you’ve indicated to your group host otherwise.
What happens if I miss a session?
If you’ve missed a session, your host can send you a link to the video to catch up.
