When the disciples of John the Baptist discover Jesus’s disciples don’t fast they’re confused. Jesus reveals fasting was the not appropriate response in light of His arrival. Jesus is bringing the kingdom of God on earth. Trust in Jesus is the only response that pleases God and grants us access to the kingdom of God.
