Studying Scripture is about more than doing research to understand what it says, what it originally meant, and how it applies today. It certainly includes those things; yet, as disciples of Jesus Christ, studying Scripture requires a posture to embrace whatever God says. In other words, studying Scripture needs a discipline that requires both our minds and our hearts. And, as with everything to related to following Jesus, it must be motivated by love.
