Three times Jesus predicts his death and resurrection, but it’s not until the third occasion that Jesus reveals the purpose of his death and resurrection. Jesus came to suffer and give his life as a ransom for many. For anyone who chooses to follow Him He makes clear that they too will participate in His suffering. This inevitably leads us to ask, why should I follow Him down this path? The answer: Because when we suffer with Jesus our flesh is put to death and we experience His resurrection life.
