We all have deep hunger to be satisfied in life. Desire is central to being humans made in God’s image. Despite this, many of much the things (often good) we seek out can’t seem to satisfy in a lasting sense. In John 6, Jesus teaches the crowd of more than five thousand he just fed that there is something greater, more satisfying, more life-giving on offer than the bread. What He offers is able to quench thirst, satisfy our longings, and fill us with life.
