Jesus’s actions in the Jerusalem Temple and before the fig tree are often confounding, yet they are far from the outbursts of a temperamental or selfish man. A closer look reveals these as prophetic acts: a parable told through illustration. As we draw near to Easter, this message invites us to examine the “fruit” we are producing and ask: what is Jesus truly looking for in our lives?
