The climax of Paul’s entire letter to the church in Corinth, perhaps the most culture-shaping letter he writes to a church, is the well-known passage in 1 Corinthians 13 about love. And while most of us have heard this read at a wedding or ten, the passage speaks directly to the life of the church and who we are to become. The acid test of the Christian life is our love; are we becoming such a people? And how can that love even be defined?
